Blog 19/ New Year, Part I: Entering Gently

New Year and more cups of coffee please.

The year didn’t need me to arrive loudly.

So, I didn’t.

I stepped into it the same way I’ve learned to move through most sacred things lately—

slowly,

attentively,

with my hands open.

There is coffee beside me.

Morning light finding its way through the room.

No rush to define what comes next.

No urgency to name outcomes.

Just presence.

This year, I’m not sprinting toward clarity.

I’m allowing it to meet me where I am.

I’ve learned that gentleness is not hesitation.

It’s discernment.

It’s knowing when to pause long enough to hear what God is saying beneath the noise.

I’m entering this year listening—

to my spirit,

to my body,

to the quiet nudges that don’t shout for attention.

There is wisdom in beginning without pressure.

In letting the year unfold instead of forcing it open.

In trusting that what is meant for me doesn’t require panic to arrive on time.

So I’m not rushing into plans.

I’m not demanding answers.

I’m not confusing motion with purpose.

I’m entering gently.

Grounded in faith.

Rooted in trust.

Willing to let the year reveal itself at the pace it was always meant to.
