Blog 18/ The Quiet After Becoming

The quiet is holy.

After the applause fades,
a quiet settles in.

Not emptiness.
Integration.

This season feels softer than I expected.
There’s no rush to announce what’s next.
No urgency to perform.
No need to prove what God has already affirmed.

The quiet feels earned.

For the first time in a long while,
I’m resting without explaining myself.
No travel plans.
No packed calendar.
No pressure to stay visible.

I’m listening.

Becoming required movement.
But sustaining who I’ve become
requires stillness.

The world celebrates the climb
and rushes past the landing.

But God doesn’t rush.
God allows space.
Breath.
The pause where identity settles
and confidence becomes rooted.

I did the work.
I stayed obedient.
I trusted God through chaos.

Now, I’m honoring the aftermath.

The quiet after becoming isn’t weakness.
It’s wisdom.

It’s choosing peace over productivity.
Protecting the anointing that carried me here.
Refusing to let exhaustion dress itself up as ambition.

I know what’s ahead.
The rooms.
The conversations.
The stages I’ll enter as Dr. Johnson.

But none of it requires me to hurry this moment.

God’s vision has always been bigger.
Better.
And right on time.

So for now, I’m sipping slowly.
Letting joy linger.
Resting in the knowing
that I didn’t miss anything—
and I don’t have to rush to catch up.

The work will resume.
The calling will continue.

But right now,
the quiet is holy.

And I’m honoring it.

“You prepare a table before me… my cup overflows.” — Psalm 23:5
