Every meaningful conversation I have had in life has started with a simple invitation. “Let’s grab coffee.” Over the years, those moments have turned into something bigger for me. Essentially, a way of connecting, learning, and building community. That’s where CourtneyCoffeeChats come in.

My Journey to This Point
For as long as I can remember, education has been at the heart of who I am. From starting as an education professional supporting with enrollment, academic advisement to now working in higher education while finishing my doctoral degree, I have seen firsthand how transformative (and sometimes exhausting) the academic world can be.
As an African American woman navigating predominately white institutions, I have learned how critical it is to have spaces where belonging is not an afterthought but the foundation. My doctoral research explored exactly that and how cultural centers and student programs impact engagement and belonging. These lessons are not just academic to me; they are personal.
Why This Blog Exists
I created CourtneyCoffeeChats because I believe the most powerful change happens when people sit down, share their stories, and spark bold conversations.
